30 participants from WM Master Class 9 met in Singapore to learn more about financial statement analysis and innovation.
"Beautiful language of accounting", professor Filip Roodhooft started his financial statement deep dive. Participants developed their knowledge of financial statements under IFRS, and how to better support clients to understand them. What is the meaning of accounting function and key concepts? How does UBS use financial statements? The Regional Head of UBS APAC Treasury shared his insights and thoughts from UBS perspective on the recent financial market development and components of UBS balance sheet management. And Head CIO Equities in UBS APAC, discussed how UBS analyses other companies and forms recommendations.
Innovation, business opportunity management and intrepreneurial mind-set was discussed in the lead of professor Marc Gruber. Innovation and new development derives from changes in technological and customer behaviour paradigm shift. We can find many examples, not only in financial industry, but also in newspapers industry or transport. In these times the competitive advantage is difficult to keep leading the organizational agility to become even more important. In fact, innovation is core discipline that organizations have to manage: entrepreneurial ideas need space to grow, develop and flourish.
