Digital transformation in SMEs: challenges and approaches to solutions

Digitization is a central factor for the competitiveness of companies in the 21st century. However, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face particular challenges when it comes to successfully implementing and using digital technologies. These challenges include lack of digital skills and expertise, limited financial resources, lack of IT infrastructure, data protection and IT security requirements, and resistance to change.
Solutions include investment in training, consideration of digital skills in the recruitment process, partnerships with educational institutions, use of funding programs, consistent prioritization of digitization projects, use of cloud-based solutions, and training of employees in handling sensitive data. Open communication and participation can help reduce resistance to change.
In a short presentation, approaches, tools and practical examples will be presented that show ways to overcome the various challenges associated with the digital transformation of SMEs.
