Module 1 Leadership & Organization

This course will help you to understand yourself better through your own assessments and reflections, but it will also encourage you to leverage your peers as a looking glass through which you can self-reflect and receive critical feed-back. Module 2 Corporate Strategy

Strategic management takes the perspective of the general manager who is involved with managing a business unit in its totality. The course focuses on the fundamental conditions that permit a firm to develop, sustain as well as capture the value of a superior strategic position. At the end of the course, you will have obtained an actionable understanding of the strategy concept enabling you to participate confidently in the strategic dialogue within you organization.

Module 3 TIDE (Technology, Innovation, Disruption and Entrepreneurship)

More than ever before, technological innovation and disruption affect the way in which business can be conducted and the way in which new wealth is created. How to master technological change and how to profit from innovation are therefore key questions for business leaders. They are essential to the development of competitive advantage and the performance of all types of companies – new and old, large and small, and from all types of industries. In this course, you will not only be exposed to the latest thinking on entrepreneurship, technological change and innovation, but you will also apply new business tools that allow you to master technological disruption. Furthermore, you will develop an innovative, real-life business project working in small teams.

In the financial accounting course, we discuss the different types of financial information that companies on the stock market prepare. Financial accounting creates transparency in financial markets and helps capital providers of companies to make good decisions on the allocation of funds. After the course, you will understand the different financial statements (balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements) that a company publishes externally. You will also realize that estimates will impact the financial information that companies publish externally

Target Audience/Requirements

A diversity of profiles in the classroom is important to us. Since participants of this CAS will join our EMBA class, the same requirements apply for them as for our EMBA students. Classes are composed of executives whose backgrounds include business, engineering, law, medical studies, and other fields.

To join the program, candidates need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Mid- or senior-level manager with the potential for taking on increased responsibilities within the organization
  • University degree (or equivalent) plus at least 5 years of management experience (as a project or line manager)
    OR
    10+ years of managerial and leadership experience in lieu of academic qualifications
  • Convincing character with a team spirit
  • Ability to set priorities and balance family, job, and studies
  • Fluent in English
Program Fees

Program Fees amount to CHF 12’400 (in one installment). The price includes tuition, all required books and materials, lunches and refreshments on regular class days in Switzerland, matriculation and exam fees. The fee does not include accommodation in Bern or Thun.

Scholarships

Based on our cooperation with companies, program Alumni/-ae and the Forté Foundation, we offer scholarships for exceptionally qualified individuals who are not financially supported by their employers.

To apply for a scholarship, please speak with one of our recruiters for further details and include the following in your online application:

  • A statement highlighting your top achievements, how you feel you could contribute to the classroom experience and why you are applying for a scholarship (included in your letter of motivation)
  • A copy of the further education agreement with your employer, which confirms that you are not receiving funding from your company for the EMBA

Please complete the online application form for your respective program choice. We require you to submit the following and tick all confirmation boxes in the tool:

  • Two recommendation forms
  • Statement of company approval
  • CV/Resume
  • Official diploma and transcripts
  • Letter of motivation
  • Portrait photo
  • Copy of passport or ID card
Step 2
Personal Interview

If you meet the admission requirements, we will invite you to go through two personal interviews, one with an alumnus of the program and one with our Academic Director.

Step 3
Admission Decision

We let you know of our decision within one week after the second interview.

Step 4
Deposit & Preparation for Program Start

Upon acceptance to the program, we will send you a letter of acceptance and ask you to pay a CHF 7,000 deposit to complete the process. We will apply the deposit towards your first tuition payment. Once we receive the deposit, we will send you further information to help you prepare for the program start.
