More Than a EMBA Graduation
Some days make you pause and appreciate how far you’ve come. My Executive MBA graduation was one of those days.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful Hotel Bellevue Palace, located in the heart of Bern. Honestly, I cannot think of a better place to celebrate such an achievement. The setting made the occasion feel special immediately. As we walked into the hotel in our gowns and looked out over the Old Town and the Alps, we truly felt that we were celebrating something we had worked incredibly hard for. Every part of the day was thoughtfully organized, from the formal procession and graduation photos on the hotel’s stairs to the gala dinner afterward.
An Executive MBA Graduation to Remember
The speeches were meaningful yet concise. Max Eggenberger, the recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award, spoke about leadership and preparing for the unexpected. Fabian Ringwald reminded us that hard work and doing things with heart still matter, even in the age of AI. Professor Claudio Loderer encouraged us to take a moment to reflect on our journeys.
That’s exactly what I did during the gala dinner.
As I sat with my family and my favorite professor, I found myself thinking about the last two years: The late evenings after work, the weekends spent studying, the projects, presentations, exams, international modules, and our trip to the US, as well as fitting it all in around work and family life. It wasn’t always easy, but in that moment, it all felt worthwhile. For the first time in a long while, I allowed myself to enjoy what I had achieved. And, if I’m honest, I felt a little relieved that I had finally made it.
How an Executive MBA Changes the Way You Think
To me, an Executive MBA is about much more than getting another degree. It changes the way you think, approach problems, and make decisions. It also introduces you to people you would probably never meet otherwise. As an entrepreneur, thinking more academically and structurally really gave me new perspectives.
The Next Chapter
The Bellevue Palace was the perfect place to celebrate the end of this chapter. It wasn’t just about receiving a diploma. It was about recognizing the journey, appreciating those who helped us get there, and looking forward to what’s next.
