The CAS Digital Acceleration & AI program shows how new technologies can be systematically evaluated and integrated into everyday work.
The focus is not only on understanding technologies, but on their tangible contribution to value creation and competitiveness.
Efficiently solving a real technical problem
A real-world case from the professional context of a participant illustrates this approach using the AI tool manus.ai. The objective was to efficiently solve a practical technical challenge – the hygrothermal analysis of a flat roof.
Even in the initial application, the potential became clear: the AI independently performed calculations, researched relevant data, and delivered well-founded results including visualizations within a short time.
At the same time, clear limitations also emerged. For more complex tasks, a structured decomposition of the problem was necessary to obtain valid results. It also became evident that, despite plausible presentation, the results are not always correct – an aspect that is addressed in the CAS as a key risk in working with AI.
This is precisely where the competencies taught in the module come into play: not just using AI, but managing it critically. This includes well-structured prompting, the ability to validate outputs, and a clear understanding of the strengths and limitations of such systems.
Intelligent combination of human expertise and machine support
This practical case exemplifies how AI can be used as a productivity-enhancing tool, while also creating new requirements for professional expertise and judgment. In other words, the real value of AI lies not in automation alone, but in the intelligent combination of human expertise and machine support.
This highlights how the content taught in the CAS helps professionals not only observe technological developments, but actively leverage them in their own practice – laying the foundation for successful digital transformation.
